Who we’re looking for:
We are seeking an experienced (registered) and patient-focused Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will assess and manage patients with psychiatric conditions who may be eligible for medical cannabis treatment, ensuring safe prescribing in line with UK regulations and best practice guidance. This is a freelance/contractor position working in a fully remote organisation.
The role is offered on a minimum of 16 hours per week and we offer full flexibility on when these hours are worked. We offer fully accredited CPD training, competitive hourly rates and the opportunity to contribute to a busy, growing and exciting team.
Qualifications
- GMC-registered medical practitioner with a licence to practise in the UK.
- CCT in Psychiatry (or in an SpR post and within 18 months of completion).
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry.
- Experience managing complex and treatment-resistant psychiatric conditions.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Confident working in digital health / remote environments.
It’d be great if you have any previous experience prescribing medical cannabis or experience in private or independent healthcare settings. However, these aren’t essential as we offer full training.
