RAF Psychiatrist Consultants (Medical Officers) play a vital role in ensuring personnel are fit and ready for action in the UK and when deployed on Operations overseas. A rare opportunity has arisen where we are looking to recruit to this unique role.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist looking for a new challenge. To be eligible, candidates must have full GMC registration
with current license to practice and have either gained CCT in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry, or be within Higher Psychiatry Training (ST4-6). Ideal
candidates would have experience of a community adult setting involving face-to-face and video consultations and be approved under section 12(2)
of the MHA (2006).
THE ROLE
As a Royal Air Force Consultant Psychiatrist you will work 10 PA in established posts within MoD Departments of Community Mental Health,
providing occupational and general adult psychiatric care including risk management and liaison, to service personnel. Working within a multidisciplinary
team you will provide and develop clinical leadership and management with responsibility for clinical governance and healthcare assurance.
In addition, Royal Air Force Consultant Psychiatrists are provided training in military aviation medicine and contribute to the provision of occupational
mental healthcare provision to aircrew and air traffic controllers. There is the opportunity to develop with career progression in other leadership roles within
the Defence Medical Services

GOLDEN HELLO
This role may be eligible for a financial incentive of a £50,000 gross single payment.

You must be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been
a Commonwealth citizen since birth. Whether or not you were born in the United Kingdom, you should have resided there for the 5 years immediately preceding
your application, but candidates with a minimum of 3 years will be considered
