Eligible medical practitioners who move to Queensland from an interstate or international jurisdiction to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 (pro rata) incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme

Generous remuneration package value up to $522,648 p.a. comprising:

• Comprising salary range of $7827.20 - $9924.00 p.f. (L18- L27)
• Recreational leave and leave loading.
• Employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%),
• Attraction and retention incentive allowance
• Regional and rural attraction allowance, plus other generous allowances.

Level of appointment is dependent upon experience and advanced qualifications.

Staff Specialist Psychiatrist (Rehabilitation)/ Permanent full-time.

The Staff Specialist Psychiatrist will: 

• Provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.
• Position is available for specialist psychiatrist in the field of:
• Rehabilitation Mental Health Services Program Area.
• Working knowledge in Forensic Psychiatry and familiarity with its principles.
• Work in a collegial, multi-disciplinary team (MDT) settings, within a supportive framework of peer and operational supports. The Secure Mental Health Rehab Unit (SMHRU) Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) includes a psychiatry registrar/principle house officer and a resident medical officer. The broader Rehabilitation Mental Health Services Program Area includes a Clinical Director, 3 psychiatrists, 3 psychiatry registrars/principal house officers and 2 resident medical officers.

About the role

Requirements:

• Proof of qualification - Psychiatry, recognised by the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and current registration with/or eligibility for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
• Possession of class C drivers' licence.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
